Kellyanne Conway complains that criticism of her is gender biased. USA Today reported on Saturday “Conway said the condemnation of her as a political operative or White House aide has been about “how I look or what I wear or how I speak.”
It is not untrue that she has been treated with gender bias. She was ridiculed for sitting on her knees on a couch in the Oval Office, and lewd jokes were told. She has been mocked for at least one terrible outfit. There’s a comprehensive New York Times summary on the topic from March.
Yet one feels that she shouldn’t be so sensitive, having only one day earlier had this to say about Hillary Clinton on Fox News (read the summary from Vanity Fair):
“You know, when I needed negative information about Hillary Clinton, I didn’t have to go very far. I looked at Hillary Clinton. She was a treasure trove. She was like a treasure box of negative Hillary information with arms and legs.”
How’s that for condemnation based only on appearance?
Eat your words Kellyanne Conway.
